In March, Kia Motors issued a press release stating that the Kia Stinger model was set to undergo a major redesign. The Kia Stinger, which was originally released in the 2018 model year, marked a new era of Kia branded vehicles.
According to Sean Yoon, President & CEO of Kia Motors North America; “the Stinger confidently shows Kia’s ability to build a sport sedan that can compete – and beat- the best the world has to offer.
While the 2018 Kia may only be 3 years old as of this article, the 2022 Kia Stinger is being revamped with new exterior design details that offer a more upscale appearance. The Stinger is also set to receive a more powerful standard engine and unparalleled driving experience thanks to upgraded technology.
2022 Kia Stinger Exterior Changes
The 2022 Kia Stinger will receive a new logo on the front hood and wheel caps to usher in the new era of Kia vehicles. However, the new logo is only one of the many upgrades for the New Kia Stinger. The Stinger will receive standard LED headlights and taillights along with optional “Stinger-signature” LED DRLs and headlilghts. The GT trim will get the “full LED” treatment with LED turn signals as well. The Stinger will also receive a more aggressive exhaust tip design.
2022 Kia Stinger Interior Changes

Ambient LED mood cabin lights in a selection of colors also gives the interior of the Stinger a luxury feel.
2022 Kia Stinger Performance Upgrades
The 2022 Kia Stinger redesign offers much more than the previously mentioned design improvements. The standard engine gets upgraded to a 2.5L Turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. This “standard” engine puts out an impressive 300 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque. The Stinger will continue to offer the 3.3L Turbocharged V6 engine on the premium trim levels. The Turbo V6 gets up to 368 max horsepower and 376 lb-ft of torque. The 2022 Stinger is raising the bar for performance with an estimated 0-60 mph of 4.7 seconds.
2022 Kia Stinger Technology Upgrades
The 2022 Stinger puts technology at the forefront. The standard infotainment system is a 10.25″ touchscreen with Navigation, Bluetooth and Split-screen functionality. Additional upgrades include wireless charger for smartphones as well as a larger 4.2″ color TFT center cluster. The option for a 7″ center cluster gives users an available Blind Spot View monitor with live video when the turn signal is active. The screen can also project the available 360-degree Surround View Monitor.
As you can see, the 2022 Kia Stinger is set to receive quite the redesign compared to the current version. Nearly every aspect of the sport-sedan is getting an upgrade and it’s a sign of the next step forward for Kia Motors.
